How many
times have you drifted off to sleep easily then woken up at 2am wide
awake. Then you lie there annoyed at yourself
because you’re not going to get you eight hours sleep.
I saw this
interesting article on the BBC website which says “A
growing body of evidence from both science and history suggests that the
eight-hour sleep may be unnatural.” http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-16964783
Research
has found that in the past people had two sleeps and would often talk to each
other between these sleeps. By the 1920s
the idea of a first and second sleep had receded entirely from our social
consciousness.
